Biography:



Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the 6th President of Ukraine and a former actor and comedian who transitioned into politics. He grew up in a Jewish family in Kryvyi Rih, an industrial city in Ukraine. He graduated with a law degree from Kryvyi Rih National University but pursued a career in entertainment instead of practicing law.

In 2003, Zelenskyy co-founded Kvartal 95, a production company that became highly successful in Ukraine. He gained national fame for starring in the TV series "Servant of the People" (2015–2019), where he played a schoolteacher who unexpectedly becomes President of Ukraine. This role resonated with the public and foreshadowed his real-life political career.

Zelenskyy launched his presidential campaign in 2019, running on an anti-corruption platform and promising to bring political reform. He won the election in a landslide, defeating incumbent Petro Poroshenko.
